Acceptable Use Policy

01 The short version

Don't use Pinefall to harm people, break the law, abuse our infrastructure, or deceive others. If a behavior would feel wrong to do face-to-face, it's almost certainly wrong to do here.

02 Don't break the law

You may not use Pinefall in any way that:

• Violates any applicable law, regulation, or court order.
• Infringes on the intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or contractual rights of any person or organization.
• Facilitates fraud, money laundering, sanctions evasion, or other financial crimes.
• Distributes content that exploits or endangers minors in any way.

03 Don't harm people

You may not use Pinefall to:

• Harass, threaten, stalk, dox, or incite violence against any person or group.
• Promote hateful conduct based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or any similar characteristic.
• Distribute non-consensual intimate imagery or sexual content involving people who haven't consented.
• Bully, intimidate, or coordinate harm toward another user.

04 Don't abuse our infrastructure

To keep things working for everyone, you may not:

• Probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of our systems without written permission, or breach any security or authentication measure.
• Access, tamper with, or use non-public areas of the site, our servers, or our technical delivery systems.
• Send spam, chain messages, unsolicited bulk communications, or unauthorized commercial messages of any kind.
• Distribute malware, ransomware, viruses, or any code intended to damage, disrupt, or gain unauthorized access to systems or data.
• Interfere with or disrupt the site or any Pinefall product, including via denial-of-service attacks or by overwhelming our infrastructure with traffic.
• Scrape or harvest data at a rate or scale that degrades the experience for others, or in violation of our published rate limits, robots directives, or technical instructions.

05 Don't deceive

You may not use Pinefall to:

• Impersonate another person, organization, or Pinefall itself in a way intended to mislead.
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation in order to gain access, build trust, or extract information.
• Engage in phishing, credential harvesting, or other fraudulent solicitation.
• Spread information you know to be false in a manner likely to cause material harm.

06 Respect privacy

Don't collect, store, or share another person's personal information without a lawful basis and their understanding. Don't post other people's private content without permission. Treat data the way you'd want yours treated.

07 Use AI and automation responsibly

We're not anti-bot. We just want bots to be honest. If you build automated tools or AI agents that interact with Pinefall, you should:

• Identify yourself with a clear user agent and a way for us to contact you.
• Respect robots.txt, rate limits, and any documented technical guidance.
• Not misrepresent automated content as human-generated where doing so would deceive someone meaningfully.
• Not use Pinefall to generate or distribute content that would otherwise violate this AUP.

08 Reporting violations

If you see something on the site or in a Pinefall product that violates this AUP, please tell us at hello@pinefall.dev. Include enough context for us to investigate (links, screenshots, and timestamps help). We take reports seriously and will treat good-faith reporters with discretion.

09 Enforcement

If we believe you've violated this AUP, we may take any action that we judge to be appropriate, including:

• Asking you to stop and giving you a chance to fix the issue.
• Removing offending content.
• Suspending or terminating your access to the site or any Pinefall product.
• Cooperating with law enforcement when legally required.

For severe violations, or where required by law, we may act without prior notice. We aim to be fair, proportionate, and transparent about why we acted.

10 Changes to this policy

As our products and the web evolve, we may update this AUP. The "Last updated" date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced on the site or to registered users. Continued use after a change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
